Hi there,
I'm trying out Version 5.38 of AHM.
I registered HM as a service, started the service manually and everything is fine.
After restarting the server, Windows shows a Popup-Window right at the logon-window saying "One service or driver couldn't be started..." - and an eventlog entry is created saying "The service "KS Advanced Host Monitor" has not been started properly".
This happened on two different servers. The funny thing is that after logging on, the service runs and you can connect to it.
How can I avoid the startup-problem?
PS: It happend on Windows2000 and Windows2003 running in VMware
HM creates failure at startup / message in eventlog
Theoretically Windows records this message when service does not respond within 20 sec after startup. HostMonitor reports status right after initialization, usually 2-4 seconds. If system loads a lot of services at the same time. it can be a little busy... but 20 sec?
Could you try to enable "Do not check Internet connection" option (Misc page in the Options dialog)? HostMonitor should report status before checking network status, but just in case...
Regards
Alex

This problem happens just under VMware...abo wrote:Hi there,

Use a real server with a powerful network subsystem
