Hostmonitor issue on the network!!!!!!

Basically, this his holding the Hkey Local Machine registry key open in a read/write mode 100% of the time which is an extrordinarily bad idea.

HostMonitor does not open such registry key on any remote system. It may open PERFORMANCE_DATA key in order to perform CPU Usage, Process or Performance Counter test methods.
Also HostMonitor may use Local_Machine key on local system only to store some settings.

Yes, I will check other items...

Additionally, I have noticed that you have enabled additional software and services in the background on many of the boxes you are monitoring

HostMonitor does not start any system or 3rd party services. Unless you have configured "Start service" action.
HostMonitor does not change any system settings either. It does not change any registry data.
HostMonitor adds some registry data, but its normal behavior for any application.
