Log Analyser not running
Hi,
I have HM v4.70 running as a service (LocalSystem account).
I've select in Options-->Startup-->Services then option 'use account', and I enter an admin account.
Now when I rightclick on a test, the log analyser opens, but it is not working. I see only the grid, but transparent, with HM coming through it.
When I select 'Local Systemaccount' in stead of 'Use Account', then LogAnalyse works fine...
Can you check this ?
Pieter

Alex,
I'm having the same issue again...
It worked great for a long time.
Now I upgraded to HM 5.10 on a W2K3 server (fully patched)
I'm running AHM as a service on the LocalSystem account.
Under Options-->Startup-->Services-->'use account' : I've enter an account with Domain Administrator rights (not Administrator itself)
The problem I have now, is that when I open the properties of a folder, and I want to select the location where tha report is saved, I get the browse windows to select a location, but the field were to enter the filename is corrupted. I can't select a folder or filename.
Restarting the AHM serveice solves the problem for a couple of minutes, but it always returns
Any suggestions ?
Pieter

Finally I reproduced this error on our Windows 2003 system.
Unfortunately its more difficult to fix this than last problem with Log Analyzer. Because this dialog is displayed by Windows API...
Probably the best solution that will eliminate all problems relates to interactive services - separate monitoring and GUI applications. Actually we want to do that right after "templates", "acknowledgements" and "active RMA" tasks.

We cannot fix that because problem somewhere within comctl32.dll. Probably DLL retrieves some desktop related handles on initialization stage and uses these handles all the time. Its not a problem for regular application but makes problems for services...Any idea when this lockup problem is being addressed ?
Windows is not really designed for interactive services

The only good and releable solution I see - use 2 applications. One application - monitoring service without any GUI. Another application - GUI interface.
It means we have to redesign everything. May be it will be done in version 6.
Or may be next Service Pack from Microsoft fix that problem...
