Any IP for Remote Management and Updates?

Post by kvnsdr »

I want to allow any IP address for ‘remote management’ and ‘remote updates’……….

I now have a broadband dynamic IP, so there's the problem. Before I had DSL and static IP.

You may specify range of IP addresses for "Enable remote management from address" option.
Quote from the manual
Note: Instead of single IP address you may specify a list and/or a range of IP addresses. IP addresses in the list should be separated by comma. Dash is used to define a range of addresses. Example: "192.168.1.1 - 192.168.255.255".

Unlimited Range?

Post by kvnsdr »

I need 'unlimited' range. So will the example below work fine.

10.0.0.1 - 254.255.255.255

I think you should use 2 ranges in this case:
10.0.0.1-127.255.255.255, 128.0.0.1-254.255.255

Well, that works. I would like to see a future option (check box) much like the "Accept Any Connection" you currently have.

I know it seems a bit strange using the long IP subnets, but since I'm now on a dynamic IP provider, it's the only alternative I have.

I feel it would be a nice option though, if the password protects that as well.

Cheers :)

I doubt many people need such option... and there is simple workaround.

Every operation is password protected and all traffic to the agent is encrypted.
