Post by illarionov »

When Hostmonitor trying to send message to SNPP server, Hostmonitor crash without error.
The log file contain record:
SNPP Error: 321: 500 Error, Command Not Implemented

When I try to send SMS with telnet, all is OK.

Could you please provide more information:
- HostMonitor version?
- SNPP server parameters (address, port, login)? Better send this information to our e-mail (support@ks-soft.net)

I was not able to reproduce this problem. However I found conditions that may cause HostMonitor to generate exception:
- if SNPP server returns error code, HostMonitor sends QUIT command;
- If SNPP server returns error again, HostMonitor generates exception.

This problem fixed, update available at www.ks-soft.net/download/hm531c.zip

Another question is - why SNPP server returns 2 errors (Command not implemented), one after another?
I see 2 possible answers:
1) SNPP server doesn't work correctly
2) Or you are using mail template that contains empty line + line with a dot (.). SNPP server interprets such sequence as end of the message and assumes next line is a command.

Could you check mail template that you are using for this action? If nothing wrong in the template, I would recommend to try some other SNPP server.

Alex
