Un-attended install + Un-attended license insert.

Post by zendesigner »

Hi Alex,

Our purchase department should have contacted you in regards to the purchase of the licenses. In regards to this i have two questions.

1.) Can you provide us with some info on how to install your exe file in an unattended way using an answer script or similar. I can't find it on the forum somewhere.

2.) How can we script the addition of the licenses (16) one per server in an unattended way ?

thanks

I am afraid HostMonitor cannot be installed and registered in an unattended way.
We have such task in our "to do" list but its not implemented yet.

Thanks Alex, i'll set our coders on it , we may have to reverse engineer into an MSI then for internal use.

Hi alex,

We found that we just can copy an existing installed hostmonitor directory over to a new machine and register the reg key's again and it works.

So this might be a way to install scripted.

But hostmonitor detects somewhere that it's the first time it's run and then wants to save the ini file from the options dialog.
We already provide that file as it needs to be so the options dialog popping up should not be needed.

Can you tell us were hostmonitor looks for his "first start" so we can emulate it starting before thus not getting the pop-up?

Thanks

Bart

Set registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KS-Soft\HostMonitor 4\OptWizardVer value to 1
