Windows can make RCP calls over different network protocols, e.g. TCP/IP or NetBEUI. Of course appropriate network protocol should be installed on both systems (monitoring and monitored system). Also RPC (Remote Procedure Call) service should be started on the system.
In order to perform Service check HostMonitor should be started under Power User or Administrator's account.
