RMA Drops connection every 5-10 minutes or so

Post by zero_defekz »

I have an unusual problem.. i have HM and RMA installed on 2 machines.. hm on our server, and rma on a remote clients server (our server watches over our clients server for stuff like exchange mailbox size etc) However.... about every 10-15 minutes, i recieve the message "RMA connection error"

Now.. what ive had to do is... rdp into our clients machine, open up the rm agent, then refresh the folder of tests....

Heres a clip from the log:

Latest connections
11:00:51 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:49 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:46 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:45 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:45 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:45 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:44 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted
10:55:37 AM Connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .. Accepted

(This shows up after i refresh the entire folder of tests)

If i run the standalone agent (black background, green text) and i refresh the test folder, i get test replies..... when i close it out, and open up the configurator, when i stop the program, but start the service, then refresh the test.. and i get the "RMA Connection Error" status reply.... im pretty sure (90%) that this means its the service, not the agent itself correct?

the ports are properly configured (we used a custom port designation) because they worked at one time.. untill our client had to buy a bigger block of ip addresses.... any idea where i can look next?

client specs: win2k terminal sp4
Rma agent : 2.0

server specs windows 2000 server sp4
host monitor : 4.52

H'm, could you please update agent to version 3.10?
Its included in Advanced Host Monitor 5.10, you may use "Custom" installation mode to install agent only.
You may keep HostMonitor 4.52, it should work with new agent
