Why sometimes do my traffic tests return "Host is alive" vs. the actual interface rate? Sometimes it does it sometimes it does not.
Thanks,

HostMonitor may display such status when monitored device was rebooted or statistics has been resetted (or counter overflow).

How does this effect the average of the traffic stats? Does a 0 (zero) get averaged in when this happens? I'm seeing about 5-6 of these per day on all devices that are being monitored... |

Reply field is empty, right? So, it does not effect statistics counters (Min, Max, Average reply...)

I see 3 possibilities:
- you have huge traffic (> 2^64 bits)
- your devices do not support 64 bit counters (in this case SNMP counter resets after each 2Gb)
- or device is being rebooted every day
