I have a wireless server connected to a wireless router with net access provided by bellsouth.net DSL. I intend to purchase the HostMonitor program to monitor net access from this server and be alerted when a downtime occurrs. It is important to know right away when the DSL access goes down for this server. How do you set it up to monitor a dynamic IP issued by the DSL provider? The IP changes when there is a disconnection and a re-connection occurrs. What HostMonitor tests do you recommend to provide very thorough sensing when there is a interruption of DSL service from the ISP on this type of setup (dynamic IP)? Thank you |
