Repeat Names

Post by Quantum »

I have organised all my tests in to folders for the servers I am monitoring and all the tests have the same name.

Mars
>>>System
>>>>>>>>RAM
>>>Apps
>>>>>>>>SQL

I keep getting an message about a test with that name already exists.

What I want to know is am I going to have issues because I have tests with the same names or is that just a freindly message to stop confusion ?

Thanks

HostMonitor assigns unique ID to each test, so it will not mix items.
But Log Analyzer analyzes log files - text or HTML files that do not have information about internal structures; Log Analyzer can merge all records related to the same test name and test method...

I am logging into SQL and am going to write reports of my own using my favorite report writer.

Does the ODBC log record the folder structure ?

Thanks

Its up to you. You provide SQL statement that records data, so you may record any data you want. E.g. you may use %FullPath% variable to save folder structure. Or you may use %TestID% variable to save unique test ID...
