Hi all,
I've got a test that checks a URL availability which works ok, BUT if the URL is not avialable it takes a very very long time to twig its not there, so for example its down at the moment, but hostmon is sitting there ssaying checking at the moment, and has been for the last 10 mins, eventually it does alert but it takes a lonooong time,
any ideas.?
Thanks

I've tried both settings, windows default, and specified as a second or 2 either makes no difference...

H'm.. may be some problem with wininet.dll
What version of Internet Explorer is installed on your system?
Are you checking HTTP server? In this case you may try to use HTTP test method instead of URL test method. HTTP test method doesn't use wininet.dll

IE is current at version 6, its checking a url which is a sub site of the main site which antoher test checks, the top level check is really fast and faultless, its the sub check that takes a age..
Very strange.!

Could you try to use HTTP test method instead of URL?
