Web Service problems

Post by MROSS »

Using HostMonitor 4.42 on a windows 2003 server, running IIS and sharepoint services.
The HM webservice interface USED to work, and now i dont know what happened.

On my user page, i grant Admin rights from the IP addres of the server itself.. I try to go to http://servername:8080 i get prompted to authenticate. I enter in Admin and my pass.. but it gets rejected 3 times.
I see this in my syslog
RCI Authentication Failed: Unacceptable IP address Operator: Admin

What am I doing wrong?????

Open User Profiles dialog (menu User->Operators), add IP address of the Web Service system into "Accept remote connections from" list.

H'm.. Does HostMonitor and Web Service located on the same system? If you have specified address of HostMonitor as 127.0.0.1 (option of Web Service), you should use 127.0.0.1 address to the list.
Also, have you marked item (IP address) in the list? HostMonitor ignores umarked addresses.

Do you really need whole subnet? If you add address of the system where Web Service is installed, its enough to connect from any browser thru that Web Service.
