Performance Counter Problem
Performance Counter Problem
Hi,
I have a problem checking performance counter on a Windows 2000 SP4 Server.
I want to check the amount of connected User who use Outlook Web Access (Exchange 5.5 SP4).
The Eventlog Error on the remote machine is:
Event ID: 1016
Description:
The data buffer created for "MSExchangeWEB" service on "C:\exchsrvr\bin\ewsperf.lib" library is not aligned on an 8-byte boundry....
Does somebody know how I can solve the problem?
We use HM 3.69d
Regards
René

But.. you already have SP4. So, this information is not usefulAccording to Q263112, Service pack 4 should have resolved the problem

SP4 is already installed on the server (Windows 2000 and Exchange).
It has to be a problem with the hm
When I open the performance counter tool from ms and add some counters it works just fine (from hm to the remote servers).
On most of the performance counter tests we experience problems. Often the test run fine after a reboot of the hm machine. But after some time all go orange.
Trying to get the actual value brings up an error message: Error: The remote Procedure Call failed
What information can I provide for you to fix the problem?
We need a solution fast! Right now we can not monitor important information...

I am working on it but I cannot guarantee solution
I am trying to find some document than will explain how this error can be caused by application. For now all documents that I find assert that error is in performance extension DLL (ewsperf.lib in our case). Just for example: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=262335
Actually it looks logical to me because HostMonitor does not allocate any buffers, performance extension DLL does. On the other hand I do not understand how microsoft tool works without errors. It means there are must be some document, I just need to find it (I hope its available for public)
