Saving logs to a network drive

We are using HostMonitor 4.10...

I have several tests that I would like to copy to a network share we can access that is actually a web server virtual folder on the outside of a firewall. I am not trying to do this to bypass the web admin functionality, but I would like to be able to see the global log file from a locked-down web page that we have access to. I don't really want to use the web-based admin tool, because I have permissions and accounts set the way I need them through IIS.

However, HostMonitor will not let me save a log file to a network drive. Is this by design, or is it a bug? The drive is already mapped out and I can access it through Windows Explorer, but if I try to change the location of the logfile inside of HostMonitor, it tells me "access is denied".

I see 2 possible reasons:
- network drive/folder is read-only, HostMonitor cannot create file there;
- HostMonitor started as a service under user account that does not have access to the network folder ("local system" account does not have access to any network resource). In this case you should provide account with necessary permissions on Service page in HostMonitor's Options dialog

Holy cow. I can't believe I forgot to look at that. I changed the properties of the service to use the administator's account. All is well.
