Hi Alex,

Thanks for the feedback :-)

I think basic things like
- CPU usage
- Storage
- RAM
- maybe something like an "overall health status" like the HPE ILO or the NAS have?
- FANS
- Port RX / TX errors

I will talk to our switch expert again and if necessary submit points later.

Thanks in any case!

Best regards, Felix

Temperature alarm Aruba switches

Post by ThomasOlsen »

For those who are interested I found the OID´s for the inlet temperature on 6200 and 6100 Aruba switches:

Inlet air temp OID Aruba 6200:
1.3.6.1.4.1.47196.4.1.1.3.11.3.1.1.7.1.4.1.9
Inlet air temp OID Aruba 6100:
1.3.6.1.4.1.47196.4.1.1.3.11.3.1.1.7.1.4.1.1

I had to SSH to the switches and run this, to get it working:
configure
snmp-server vrf default
write memory
copy running-config startup-config
exit
exit

In hostmonitor you make an SNMP Get test. The value returned will be 35000 for a temperature of 35C

Thanks for some great software :-)

Thank you for the tip

We played with Aruba switches a little but looks like many models does not support any SNMP counters within 14823 branch (ArubaOS).
So all these MIBs are useless
https://asp.arubanetworks.com/downloads ... ntents=MIB

We will check 47196.4 (hpe.hpeNetworking) counters as well, but so far looks like Aruba 2930 and 3810 do not support these counters either.

If you can provide read only SNMP access to your Aruba devices, please contact support by e-mail (you may use HostMonitor menu Help->Support)

Regards
Alex
