Hello Alex, hello community,
we have HM 13.80 running on a Windows Server 2016.
The following, extremely strange effect we get.
Test 1: "MailRelay"
Source "our server
Destination: T-Online (large German provider)
HM Mail is sent correctly (verified via T-Online WebMailer and simple POP3 client)
HM reports "276: error during handshake[2]: 0x80090302 Mail Relay (t-online.de)" - which of course causes the test to fail.
Test 2: "POP3 test"
T-Online - Server name, access data and TLS settings identical as in Test 1.
HM logs on to the server without any problems and returns the correct number of mails in the mailbox.
Why can test 2 log on to the T-Online server as POP3 client without any problems and test 1 not?
EDIT:
same effect if I change access from POP3 to IMAP in 'Test 1' and create an additional HM Test 'IMAP Test'.
Kind regards
Uwe
MailRelay failed with Error 276 0x80090302
I don't know. The same POP3 (or IMAP) module is used for both test methods. Various adjustment looks similar as well...Why can test 2 log on to the T-Online server as POP3 client without any problems and test 1 not?
What TLS options and ciphers supported on the server?
Could you try HostMonitor 14.01? We made a lot of changes in that version, including POP3 and IMAP improvements.
Regards
Alex
Hi Alex and thanks for the reply.
I would have assumed that both tests use identical routines.
As far as I have read it correctly in the online help, T-Online uses TLSv1.2 and TLSv1.3 exclusively - I cannot say which cipher suites are used.
The two servers used are
- securepop.t-online.de
- secureimap.t-online.de
each with their standard ports.
But the TLS or Cipher Suites should not matter if one of the tests can connect correctly?
I will install the latest HM (beta) version and test it.
