URL request on https Port 446 permanent failed

We are testing a connection to an HTTPS application and the test fails permanently.
The same test works correctly on port 444 in our internal test environment with the same application.
The HTTPS certificate test runs perfectly on the server!

Different environment between internal testsystem and livesystem:
The certificate is not valid (expired) and the advanced options are all active (accept certificates with invalid date...)
Server OS: 2016 (same as in test environment)
IE can connect to the site normally

What exactly means "fails"? What status do you see? Bad? Unknown? No answer?
