Good Afternoon,

Is there a sort of threshold when it comes to performance on the hostmonitor platform? I have thousands of tests running at different intervals and times but I always come across the issue of the ping tests timing out when the destination is confirmed online. Also periodically the app itself would crash when tests are refreshing.

Please advise.

1) HostMonitor version?
There are over 200 releases with different performance.
Modern HostMonitor may perform over 1000 ping tests/sec.

2) If you setup like 20,000 tests with 10sec interval, its not a problem for results. But its a problem for test interval, HostMonitor will not be able to perform all tests in time so average interval will be higher, may be 15-30 sec depending on system, HostMonitor options, test methods, test settings).
You may easily check for possible config and performance related problems using Auditing Tool (menu View)
https://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.htm#testlist.htm#LoadDlg

3) "the issue of the ping tests timing out"
What exactly status and reply do you see? No answer? Bad? Unknown? "Timeout", "Timed out" or just empty reply?
Tests performed by HostMonitor or RMA Agents? What kind of agents?

4) "periodically the app itself would crash when tests are refreshing"
Ping tests cannot lead to crash, this never happened in 22 years.
Usually buggy ODBC drivers from Oracle lead to crash. Do you use Oracle related logging, ODBC Query test or SQL Query action?
What other tests and actions do you use?
HostMonitor version? Windows version? Antivirus version?
What errors do you see in the logs (Windows Event log, HostMonitor syslog)?
Tests performed by HostMonitor or RMA Agent? What kind of agent? Passive RMA for Windows? Active RMA for Windows? Active RMA for Linux? Active RMA for FreeBSD?
Any problems detected by Auditing Tool?

You may send screen shots and zipped log files to support by e-mail (HostMonitor/RCC menu Help->Support)

Regards
Alex

What exactly 222 problems detected?
We need more information, logs and config, please contact us by e-mail (it would be a bad idea to share your settings on the forum)

Alex
