Hostmonitor - url request test no answer

Hello,

I have an url request test for a HTTPS ressource but it reply with a no answer result which shouldn't since the ressource is UP and reachable. If I try to reach it from hostmonitor server with IE its not working but if I try with firefox its working. I wonder if it has to do anything with the browser.

Let me know if you have an idea.

We cannot say anything for sure without access to server and/or detailed information - HostMonitor version, IE version, Windows version; protocols, ciphers and options supported on server side.

HostMonitor uses the same API as Internet Explorer. So if you are using old Windows and IE while server does not support old protocols (e.g. SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0) then test will fail

Hello Alex,

What is strange is that the URL test was running good last month.
Status was "Host is alive" so I don't think it has something to do with supporting protocols but I might be wrong.

Could you please provide details, software versions, supported protocols, ciphers?

Just to post an update on this topic.
Migrating to a newer Windows Server 2019 solved the issue.
