The Future Of HostMonitor
Hi Alex, don't have a vote preference for any of the items listed, but extremely happy to learn that development will continue and HM will live on.
If I had to vote for one thing, it would be for a much improved WEB interface as well as an Android RCC app as commented by others in this thread.
We are long time users (10+ years) and love this great product. When someone pokes a stick at HM for it's lack of state of the art UI, the best response is: How's that $olarwinds "breach" working out for ya? There is definitely something to be said for being the somewhat obscure yet feature-packed solution out there today! ;)
Best Regards,
John

Suggestions
1. HTTP test does more than URL test, but doesn't support HTTPS. HTTP sites are nearly extinct. Combine HTTP and URL tests into one test that does everything.
2. When "check contents" of URL test, allow regular expressions
3. SSO via kerberos
4. Use modern font and icons throughout

Alex Great to hear about your plans!
My votes are for the following:
Azure platform covered by Hostmonitor
Sonicwall tests
IPMI Tests
RCC Android
Improved Web Interface - I would really prefer a more functional web interface so that we would not need to use RCC.
I might add a few more after some additional thought

IPMI tests were implemented in version 12
Do you need some new IPMI tests?
https://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/news.htm#v1280
What exactly tests you need for Sonicwall and Azure?

Alex

This thread is a little over a year old, but an Azure test I would like to see would be a "Shared Secret Expiration" test.KS-Soft wrote:IPMI tests were implemented in version 12

I have a PowerShell script that I can run in PowerShell and get the info needed, but when adding it to HM, it always comes back as "ok" .... I think the issue might be the "Connect-AzureAD" line in the PowerShell script. I don't think it logs in, and therefore no secrets are detected as expiring (my parameter in the script is "DaysToWatch" which indicates the number of days to start notification for a secret that's about to expire).
Another option might be if Connection Manager could be used to connect to Azure... and then the PowerShell script might run and return expected values.
HPE / Aruba Switch Tests
Hello,
will there be prepackaged tests for HP / Aruba switches in the future?
For Cisco, they are already in the test selection.
How can these best be monitored? Previously with SNMO OIDs correct?

We do not have access to Aruba support files

Do you? Can you download MIB files and manuals?
(if this does not violate your service agreement)

Hi Alex,
yes we have access to Aruba Support Portal.
However, I was able to access the Mibs without user access.
Is this helpful for you?
