Test for MX record *changes* ??

Post by averylarry »

I'd like to setup a test that will alert me when a given domain's MX records change.

By "change", I mean if an MX record is added, removed, or modified. Right now it appears that a DNS test using MX request type can test if *any* of the returned MX records match a particular answer. I could, then setup a DNS test for each of the returned MX records -- but that won't tell me if any MX records were added.

You may set 2 options:
- Use Warning status if "%DNSResults%"<>"%Reply%"
- Tune up Reply value, Reply = %DNSResults%

May not work with some servers, e.g. gmail.com always change order of MX records.
