|
|
Hello
What often strikes us is the check "automatic services", that if a service is not running all services are given as "reply", despite skipped services.
But only one service is not running.
See the screenshot. --> only CIMnotify service is not running.
Will this be fixed in further Versions?
Thanks in advance |

Hi Alex,
it is the latest version 11.96
Windows Server 2016
No virus scanner installed
Server is at current patch level
Problem exists since the introduction of the test with the automatically started services.

what is still noticeable is when all "automatically started" services are running then the status changes to "unknown".
Confusing because i thought the RMA has a problem with the test.

We cannot reproduce these problems.
Active RMA? Passive RMA?
RMA version?

its an active RMA Version 6.64
I know it's weird and it currently only occurs on a server.
As soon as I stop a car service manually, the test is displayed normally again. I'll try creating the test again.
thanks Alex |

car service? Do you mean RMA service?
So if you start RMA as application it works correctly?

i mean an autostarted Service.
I have restarted the RMA biut didn't help.
Its only on SQL Server. All other Servers are working fine and all servers are tested via the same RMA
I can only get rid of the error message by putting the service in the "exception list" and shutting down.
Everything else returns only at the one server "unknown 301 - not found" ...
But on next Serverreboot the problem will occur again. Im Confused
BTW its not anymore possible to multiselect services ?
It works Alert when "Some Auto Services are not running"
Works not Alert when "Service not started or doesn't respond" / "Service not started"
Regards

Quote from the manual Quote: |
Alert when service not started
HostMonitor checks specific service state. If the service is not Running, HostMonitor will set Bad status and start the specified alert actions.
You may type name of the service to check, or select a service from the drop-down list. Note: when you setup NEW Service test item, you may specify several services; in such case HostMonitor will create separate test item for each selected Windows service.
Alert when service not started or does not respond
This mode used by default. HostMonitor checks service state and responsiveness. If the service has not been started or the service does not answer, HostMonitor will set Bad status and start the specified alert actions.
You may type name of the service to check, or select a service from the drop-down list. Note: when you setup NEW Service test item, you may specify several services; in such case HostMonitor will create separate test item for each selected Windows service. |
When you edit existing test, you cannot select many services because each test may check just 1 service (these 2 modes allow to check 1 service)
We will test RMA on Windows Server 2016 with SQL Server

Cannot reproduce the problem on MS SQL Server machine.
Could you please export test settings into text file (menu File->Export..) and send to us (support@ks-soft.net)?
