|
|
Hello
a customer of us would like to monitor virtual disks. These do not have a drive letter because they are passed directly from the SAN to the virtual machine and appear in Windows as linked virtual disks.
They also do not appear in Windows Explorer.
Only as Folder where they linked at.
How could one monitor the utilization here?

What exactly means "monitor"? Check file system free space?
HostMonitor version?
SAN manufacturer? model? supported protocols?
HostMonitor version 11.00+ may check some NAS/SAN devices directly using SNMP protocol, there are 2 new tests
- Add test -> Win/UNIX/routers -> Drive Free Space
- Add test -> NetApp -> NetApp Space (for NetApp NAS devices only)
Regards

Hi Alex,
thanks for your reply.
Monitor Free Space yes-.
What I meant are just disks that are mounted via mount points.
Do you know a Ks Hostmon specific Solution here?
KS Hostmon 11.32 is in use.
We were able to solve it with performance couter tests.
\\excderau02\LogicalDisk(C:\Exchange_Data\DB-EXCDERAU02-MB-01\DB)\Free Megabytes
Would that have been your solution?
Have a nice day and thanks again |

HostMonitor 11 may check some NAS/SAN devices directly using SNMP protocol but I don't know if it can work with your device
