We have had RMA v. 1.00 beta running on two W2K SP4 domain controllers. One checks only CPU utilization. The other checks the following Perf counters also:
Memory% Committed Bytes In Use
Network Interface(Intel[R] PRO Adapter)Current Bandwidth
MemoryPage Faults/sec
After upgrading them to v. 1.01 beta the one with the perf counter tests started hogging the CPU, bringing it to 100% utilization. If I disable the perf counter tests and restart the RMA service it runs properly (until the tests are re-enabled). I tried adding the perf counter tests to the other box and had the same result. The following event message appeared on one of the boxes, but not both:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( rma.exe ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: Access violation at address 77E3A5AE in module 'user32.dll'. Read of address 00000019.
RMA v. 1.01 beta problem
H'm, another peculiarity of performance counters library. If agent requests Windows to unload pdh.dll and loads it again, it cause to 100% CPU utilization by pdh.dll.
Ok, there is update at http://www.ks-soft.net/download/rma101c.zip
