Help creating a Heatmap Dashboard?

Post by asylumlab »

Has anyone had success and thus helpful tips/suggestions building a Heatmap Dashboard for Hostmon (or modifying the default one)? Just looking at a basic "Green (good), Yellow (warning), Red (bad)..." The default dashboard has way too much information but not sure how (if its even able to) to modify it without having to create a 'report' and link externally.

This might sound a bit confusing (my apologies) but thanks in advance for any and all help/suggestions..

You cannot modify Dashboard style and truth to say I do not understand how exactly do you want to modify it.
Has way too much information? what exactly information do you want to remove?

Currently the Dashboard view shows a list of all systems along with counts of alerts and their status, to me this is just a simplified version of the Management view, in table format... I'm looking for the ability to display just simple squares/rectangles showing the status of a set of tests, such as pings or drive space.

So that when we load the dashboard, if we selected "Ping" then it would show squares which displayed anything that is good as green, anything bad will be red and so on... The only way to do it currently is thru a custom report which has to be generated on a scheduled basis and loaded via direct link outside of the hostmon portal.

Yes, you need custom reports or Views - you may create Views for all Ping tests, Drive Free Space tests, etc

Ah the "Super Matrix" is the view type I'm looking for. Is there a way to make this work/viewable via the webservice?
