Hi,

we monitor a Web application which has Single Sign On authentification. The Service user of the Host Monitor is known in that application. Can you explain how HM trys to login or it it possible to login via Single Sign On? Does HM use the installed Internet Explorer and its setting on order to check a requested url? I hope you can help me....

Best regards,

Andreas

URL request test method may use Basic authentication or client certificate.
HTTP test supports Basic/NTML authentication.
Both test methods can be used for form-based authentication (sending POST request with specified variables)

Please check for details at:

SSO can be implemented in various ways. What exactly authentication method is used on your server?

>Does HM use the installed Internet Explorer and its setting on order to check a requested url?

URL test uses the same Windows API used by instaleld IE and works in similar way.
HTTP test does not use Windows API

Hi,

thanks for your feedback. We are now a step further. If we are logged in with the service user of Host Monitor and use the following link in the IE http://eiger11, the Single Sign On works for our Host Monitor user. On the target page is the word "test". We use the same url in Host Monitor and search for the word test, but don't get a result. In theorie Single SIgn on should work, shouldn't ist. Do you have any ideas what we can check or set to make it work? One problem is, that we don't really know,, whether Host Monitor could login or whether it is a search issue. I hope you help me.

Best regards..[/img]

We cannot say anything without access to your server.
Try to check HTML code or show this code to us (send e-mail to support@ks-soft.net)

>Single Sign On works for our Host Monitor user

Do you mean URL test for http://eiger11 shows "Host is alive' status?

>We use the same url in Host Monitor and search for the word test, but don't >get a result.

What means "don't get a result"? Do you mean HostMonitor sets "Bad content" test status?

Regards
Alex

I'm the sysadmin who runs the HM installation. I first need to check how many hours my customer is willing to pay for this task. Your gonna hear from me.
