|
|
Hello,
we just LOVE the new fancy Webservice, its amazing!
We got just problems with 2 things right now.
1.) open VIEW directly
With the old Web-Service, we could connect directly to a given view by this link:
http://webservice-server/ws1/index.htm?fid=131074
where 131074 is one specific view number, that is opening right away.
Is there any possibility to do that with the new webservice?
2.) Performance / Avaliability-Charts only showing few "chart points"
When opening Performance Chart information of one of the tests, and going for like "last week" it shows just 7 values, one per day. this is very rare snd not very informational.
Is there a possibility to increase the information to give more detailled status?
Thanks a lot!
Greetings from Germany,
Chris. |

1) open VIEW directly
There is no such option.
Probably we can add "restore last selected folder/view" option into user preferences. Will this work for you?
2) Charts
HostMonitor does not keep very precise historical data (saves memory) so Web Service shows only data HostMonitor may offer.
(HostMonitor may record "full" log and Log Analyzer may show detailed charts)
What level of details do you need? Average hour-by-hour results for last week? month?
Regards

1) open VIEW directly
The "restore last selected folder/view" would work for us
i.e.
- Selecting View -> Specific View
- Refreshing Page / Relogin / Close Browser and open again
- After auth -> directly to Specific View
Would be great improvement!
Can you tell anything about when it will be avaliable??
2) Charts
We are already using Log Analyzer for detailled log checking.
But even for "quick" look on the history of last week and last month, like 5-7 values are way too less.
hour-by-hour results for last week (and this week) and 4 results per day on monthly overviews would be great!
Thank you very much for your quick support.
Appreciate it!
Greetings,
Chris. |

Hi Alex
I also need this feature and "restore last selected folder/view" would meet my need.
Thanks. |

Hi Alex,
for the evaluation the number of points in performance chart is too small.
My wish would be :
Insert a global option for detail resolution for "historical data"
Values per hour : max. 12
values per day : max. 96
values per month : max. 120
Memory consumption is not so important!
Introduce additional option per test:
Save "historical data" yes|no
This saves memory if chart is not necessary.
Thanks

Hi Alex,
I 've even thought about.
Even better than my last suggestion would be to adopt the concept of software Cacti.
The 4 periods indicated below and the detail resolution would be optimal and are defacto standard in IT service monitoring.
Daily (5 Minute Average) = 288 points per chart
Weekly (30 Minute Average) = 336 points per chart
Monthly (2 Hour Average) = 360 points per chart
Yearly (1 Day Average) = 365 points per chart
Introduce additional option per test:
Save "historical data" yes or no
This saves memory if chart is not necessary.
Historical data should perhaps also be stored separately . |
