Hi,

We have configured a default account for all NT Event Log and WMI test methods, therefore we have configured a "*" as Ressource and checked use this account as default for this two test methods.

Now we want to configured a default account only for all VmWare test methods. If we try to add this with Ressource *, we will get an error, that Ressource * already exists.

How can we do this? We don't want to specify every single VMWare-Host as Resource.

HM Version 9.80

Thanks and regards,

Martin

Only one default account can be specified.
You may specify IP ranges instead of creating profile for each server.
Please check for details at:

so there is no possiblility to add different default accounts for a single test method? Unfortunately in this case we can't work with IP ranges.

Why you cannot work with IP ranges?
Why you cannot setup
- one account for range like 192.168.1.99-192.168.1.106 and WMI tests
- another account for range like 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.110 and VM Ware tests
?

Regards
Alex

We have some branch offices and all with different IP ranges and in there the Windows- and VmWare-Hosts are in the same network range, and unfortunately also in the central office we share the same IP range with the Windows Hosts
In the meantime I have added all the single hosts in the connection manager.

Sorry, I still do not understand the problem.
Either I miss something or you do not see that Connection Manager allows you to create many records - e.g. one record for WMI test, another record for VMWare tests...

I would like to monitor all our Vmware Servers, fe.

vmware01.xxx
vmware02.xxx
...
They are all in different subnets.

Therefor I would like to add an default account in the connection manager.
If I add an account with Resource name f.e. vmware01.xxx I can connect only do this special machine, also wenn I configure "Use this account as default ..." for all VM Ware test methods.
So I thought, I can use * as resource, and check only for VmWare test methods.

I hope you understand it now

Not really.
I still do not understand why you cannot use IP range. E.g. 10.0.0.1 - 10.255.255.255
