Post by urworld »

it's use WMI method, SNMP will get a message:Timeout.
i was reboot the target server, but other monitor:[CPU],[PING] and [Disk] are all works fine.

Have you specified correct account for target system using Connection Manager (menu Profiles)?
HostMonitor version?
HostMonitor started as service or application?
SNMP will get a message:Timeout.
Have you installed and started SNMP agent on target system?
Have you enabled UDP port 161 on firewall?
Have you specified correct community string in SNMP profiles?
correct SNMP version?

You don't know how to use Connection Manager?
Then please read the manual:
- printable manual in MS Word format included into package, see manual.doc file
- or visit our web site at http://ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.h ... htm#conmgr
- or click menu Profiles->Connection Manager, then click Help button.
as service
What account do you use to run service? We recommend to use built-in administrator account, especially if UAC is enabled
could you tell how to check?
How to check Windows Services?
There are many options. E.g.
- use command line "sc query snmp"
- use Windows mmc application
- use command "start services.msc"
another server has the same problem when using short hostname, but using ip address works fine?
Try to use FQDN name.
