|
|
Hi,
Since I do not want to install beta version and do not wish to see a popup saying that a beta version is available and I am probably not alone (!), can you please add a checkbox in:
options / Miscellaneous / Update check
a check box that would say:
[] include Beta versions
or
[] exclude beta versions
This way I would only have "real" update alerts.
Thank you Alex |

Well, may be we will not create Beta versions at all. Nobody send bug reports even if there is some bug in Beta version, so there is no reason for such versions

Ok, I understand.
It is because now I have a popup for 9.12 which is a beta version.
If beta versions no longer exist, then the problem dissapears by itself |

Is it really big problem to have 3-4 extra messages per year?
I think much bigger problem - setup production monitoring using software with some bugs.
Of course we spend a lot of time testing our software but its pretty complicated and some mistakes can lead to problems under very specific combination of different factors (settings, OS, 3rd party software).
IMHO its much better to get notice, install Beta version beside production version (using the same settings) and inform us about problems (if any) than wait for release and then fight with problems in production environment.
Am I wrong?

No you are not wrong and I never said that it is a big problem.
Sorry if I got you angry, it was not my intent.
I only talked about this because in our situation we will never use beta versions, so pointless for us to receive update messages for these.
Anyway, not a big deal at all, just another small wish in the wish list section... You can forget about this.
Thank you for your time. |
