When running under Windows XP as a service - no matter if the HM properties are set to logon as <username>/<password> or as Local System - the following issue occurs:

HM does not recognize modem/COM port and fails to send page; shows error "Error: Error Opening COM port (TAPI10000)"
Everything works fine when not running as a service.

This has been tested on a clean XP build as well as with SP1 and hotfixes.

Thanks,

Brad

Cannot reproduce the problem. HostMonitor works fine on our XP systems.
Have one suggestion, may be it will help: add FixedPagingPort=COM3 line into [Misc] section of the hostmon.ini file and restart service. COM3 its for example, you should use COM port that was assigned to modem.

Alex

Any chance you can try this on one of the XP SP1 systems that has problems with the logoff/logon management issue?

Thanks again for your excellent support,

Brad

Of course I tried. It works fine. Did you try to use fixed COM port?

Yes. The problem is the device shows unchangeable IRQ settings that do not
correspond to defined COM ports.

H'm, its one of cases when I don't know what to say
TAPI devices are not related to current user settings, it means program must work in the same way under any account. I am still checking MS documentation but did not find anything useful yet...

Alex
