Most likelly there is nothing wrong with Web Service. Just some network problem so browser cannot connect to Web Service

Also Windows XP has a serious limitation - maximum length of the queue for pending TCP connections is limited to 5 items. If several clients try to connect to Windows XP system at the same time, some connection requests can be rejected by Windows.
This is one of the reasons why we recommend to use Windows Server 2003.

Could you please tell us what software do you use?
HostMonitor version?
Web Service version?

What exactly error is displayed by your web browser?
Web Service and HostMonitor located on the same system?
Clients web browser and Web Service started on different systems?
Do you have installed some antivirus monitors, personal firewall, content monitoring software? Non stanard winsock components?

Regards
Alex

Windows XP SP3, running ESET NOD32 AntiVirus.

HostMonitor version 7.78, Web Server version 3.30.

Attached a screen shot with the error.

WebServer and HostMonitor are installed on same server.

the client running the web connection inside internet explorer is a diffrent PC.

Nothing but nod32 which is there for a long time.

Thanks.

Yeah, it looks like some TCP requests just do not reach web service.
So try to check your network, routers, antivirus or just move HostMonitor and Web Service to Windows 2003 system.

Also, check "Maximum simultaneous connections" option located on RCI page in HostMonitor Options dialog.
=========================
This option specifies the maximum number of simultaneous remote connections that HostMonitor may accept from the remote users.
It is important to note here that even just one user that connects to HostMonitor via web browser may generate several simultaneous connections. When an internet browser acquires the document from the internet it may fetch several parts of the document at once to increase performance. Thus "Maximum simultaneous connections" option of the HostMonitor's RCI interface should be set to 8 (minimum) if you plan to use web browser to control HostMonitor (even if just one user at a time will be connected to HostMonitor). Otherwise the web browser may not be able to display a web page with an interface of the HostMonitor correctly.
=========================
If several users work with web interface, set this value to 32 or higher.
But this may not help, as I said - Windows XP has its own limitations.

Regards
Alex

The Host Monitor Application is installed on Windows Server 2003, just the computer we use for Monitoring is Windows XP.

computer we use for Monitoring is Windows XP? Do you mean web browser is started on Windows XP?
Then forget everything I said and just check "Maximum simultaneous connections" option.
Please be more specific next time you report any problem.

Alex
