After upgrading to 8.14 when HM is running as service I cannot connect to the webservice. Webservice works if HM is running as app.

Error msg:
Transmission error (Web Service <-> HostMonitor): "Connection error"

netstat -nao | find "1054" only returns data when HM is running as app.

So, HostMonitor cannot open port for listening when it is started as service on server startup?
I assume you may see error like 'RCI Error: cannot open port 1054. Probably port in use' in system log?

I don't think its related to update. Other people had such problem every year.
And its not a bug at all. Just some 3rd party software that is using this port as well. Probably some application uses this port on startup, then it closes the port.

Solution? Its pretty easy to reconfigure HostMonitor, RCC and Web Service to use some other TCP port, e.g. 5054

Alex

as usual with windows a restart fixed it. A winsock reset failed but error message instructed to reboot. Fixed both of my servers. Sorry to waste your time. I should have known.

Thanks for you quick response as usual.
