I monitor many services and want to have them restart at the first fail. Is there a way to tell Host Monitor to restart the service it's monitoring instead of creating 200 action properties? for each server and service?

Of course. Create just one action and use %ServiceComp% and %ServiceName% macro variables instead of host name and service name.
