How to do several test intervals

Post by ben5901 »

Hello,

I wish test my connections VPN every 10 minutes along the day and every 60 minutes along the night.

Apparently, it is possible to do this with time restrictions in a schedule but I don't understand how to do the tips.

Thanks to a lot for you help.

Best regards

You need to create 2 test items with different test interval and use schedule to execute 1st test along the day, 2nd test along the night

Alex,
Not a bad solution, but if any of your test parameters change you then have doubled the number of tests to maintain. Not to mention the fact that, as two separate tests, they are reported separately - not very tidy :(
To ben5901's point, it would be great to at least be able to tie an interval change to a schedule. It's a common practice and since you already have that as an alert action it seems plausable.
Maybe in v8.1? I don't want to delay the upcoming release.

In fact, I thought that the solution to parameter a schedule with 2 differents intervals was possible but I didn't know the procedure.

It will be perhaps interesting to integrate this new functionality in a new version.

In waiting this, I will create 2 tests separately for the day and the night.

Thanks a lot for yours quick answers.

Best Regards
