%Folder% variable in DNS test Request field

Post by jdean987 »

Am I missing something or is it not possible to use this variable in the Request field.

Background: I'm setting up a new environment and will be using a "copy this whole folder of 'core tests'" when adding a new server. We're using folder name as the server name and I'd like to have a test that checks DNS to insure that the host name is actually still in DNS. So Request: %Folder%.domain.com

%Folder% is a feature I've been waiting for and this is the third core test I've setup so I hope I'm just missing something. If I'm not missing something and you can't use it in Request then is there a reference or guidance you can provide on where variables like %Folder% can be used.

As always many thanks for a great product.

Sure, everything is described in the manual. Please check the following part of the manual to see where variables can be used: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... #templates

We plan to add more options in future versions, HostMonitor 7.7x is just first version of templates.
So, if you have any wishes, sugestions, welcome to "Whish List" forum
