Adding a device

Post by nule2k »

Hello all,

I recently downloaded this to test on our network. I am quite a novice at this stuff but I have used a few programs like this, but I cannot see away to just add a server/router etc. All I see is add tests. What am I missing? Replys will be highly appreciated

Thanks

Exactly - tests. HostMonitor operates with test items.
Monitoring is done by performing periodic checks of the network resources that are to be watched. These checks, in the HostMonitor terminology, are called tests. It is the administrator's responsibility to identify exactly what needs to be checked, and create a set of tests that will be doing the job.
...
A great variety of network services and resources can be watched over by the program. The following is a list of test methods available in HostMonitor:
Ping
Trace
RAS
URL
HTTP
TCP
UDP
NTP
SMTP
POP3
IMAP
Mail Relay
DNS
DHCP
LDAP
RADIUS
DICOM
UNC
Drive Free Space
Folder/File Size
Count Files
Folder/File Availability
File Integrity
Text Log
Compare Files
Process
Service
NT Events Log
CPU Usage
Performance Counter
WMI
Dominant Process
Database Server
ODBC Query
SNMP Get
SNMP Trap
Traffic Monitor
Temperatore Monitor
Active Script
Shell Script
