send SMS via GSM modem in Windows x64

Post by Sergey »

Hello,
I have a problem to send SMS via GSM modem on Windows Server x64 ent.
Modem SIEMENS es75 connected via COM port
I succesfully connected to modem by HyperTerminal on speed 115200 (no other speed works)

so, in HostMonitor I try any other SIEMENS modem from the list, but it is not working.

on this x64 server i make a virtual mashine with windows server x86 (32bit), and fom this windows modem works great (HostMon send sms)

modem response:

at+cgmi
SIEMENS
OK

at+cgmm
MC75
OK

Please help with it, thx in advance

What exact modem type have you selected from "Modem type" dropdown in "Options" -> "GSM" tab?
As I know, HostMonitor works with Siemens ES75 GSM modem using "Siemens M35" modem type, 115200 baud rate in PDU mode.
What exact errors do you see in "SMS Log"?

Strange thing... I need to see the log. Could you post the SMS log, generated on x64 server, here or send it to support@ks-soft.net?

I try to select Siemens m35 (com1, 115200, PDU mode) and get this error
Sending...
Com port open .. Ok
GSM modem initialization .. Ok
Error: Cannot send message to 89168783575. GSM modem error. ERROR was returned on AT command: AT+CMGS=24>0001000B819861783875F500F00CD4F29C0E6A97E7F3F0B90C
Com port close .. Ok
GSM modem deinitialization .. Ok

trying to select S25 and M20 modems post the same error in x64
(choosing the same settings in x86 win - sends sms OK)

and I found another thing: after trying to send SMS I close Host monitor (it was started not as service) and get error in windows

Application popup: Error: hostmon.exe - Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application at location 0x00404b4c.

Pressing OK shows another error
Application popup: Error: hostmon.exe - Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application at location 0x004442cd.

this 2 errors shows until I terminate process (hostmon.exe*32)

A have only one x64 server for my testing and can`t try hostmon on another one.
My server is Kraftway es24 (on intel alcolu S5000PAL motherboard with 1 processer)
hostmonitor is version 7.18 (trial)

Could you try this KSGSMXLib.ocx library - http://www.ks-soft.net/download/test/ksgsmxlib.zip ? Please, stop HostMonitor, unzip attached file into HostMonitor's folder and start HostMonitor again.

Also I would ask you to perform the following steps:
1. Add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KS-Soft\GSMX registry key using registry editor.
2. Under this key, add the following DWORD values:
SMS_MT
SMS_DS
SMS_Indication
and fill them with 0 data.
3. Add GSMLogFile string value, and specify there some log file name(e.g. C:\HostMon\logs\at.log).
4. Restart HostMonitor and try to send test message again.

After that I would ask you to send the log file, specified in GSMLogFile registry value, to support@ks-soft.net

Do you see these errors only after your attempts to send SMS or it apperas each time you close HostMonitor?

We found the workaround of my problem.
1.Modem have no drivers for X64 windows 2003 system, but it is
no matter when modem connected using RS232 (COM port)

2.We slow down the speed of modem communication

To slow down modem modify settings using Hyper Terminal
AT+IPR=38400
And to remember speed in EEPROM
AT&W

and don`t forget to change COM speed in Hostmonitor to 38400

Now SMS send all the time OK
