Filtering SNMP traps

Post by thomasschmeidl »

I can list certain trap types (to be in cluded or excluded)
I can list certain enterprise OIDs (to be in cluded or excluded)

Is there a way to list certain OIDs to be included?

Regards

HostMonitor may check value of some specific OID (single OID) or check value of any OID. You cannot specify several OIDs in one test.

Thanks for your response

Does it make sense to put "list of OIDs to be included/excluded" on the wish list?

I think its does not have much sense to check various OIDs for the same value  Or you want to check OID presence, without checking its value?

Ok - I will explain my setting
We have several switches with redundant links to the servers attached. I want to realize, when one of the redundant links goes down. So I listen to the "Link Down" Traps sent by the switches, which will trigger an alert. The OIDs of the traps differ by the last figure which indicates the port number.

A few ports on the switches are ports for test servers, where a "link down" occurs quite frequently.

That's why I want to exclude resp. include a list of OIDs. Otherwise I have to set up a trap test for each link.

I see. I have added medium priority task. However it will not be implemented in version 7.00. So you should setup several tests for now :(
