RCC: unable to write to ini files warning

Post by wmcgrey_it »

Hello,

I have a small problem when using rcc to access AHM server.

Environment and setup:

- AHM as service on Windows 2003 R2 server
- rcc on remote Windows XP machine running under a "standard user" account with full rwx rights to AHM program directory
- AHM version 6.82, rcc 2.07

Problem:
- under some circumstances a warning window with "Unable to write <filename>.ini" appears (as rcc.ini etc.)

It happens for example when copying a test. After selection of a destination folder and OK a popup warning windows appear. After acknowledgement of warning a copy will finish successfully.

I suppose, you should assign to the user rwx rights to %SystemRoot% directory (e.g. C:\windows). RCC uses two rcc.ini files: first is located in the same folder, as rcc. This file contains working settings. Another file is located in %SystemRoot% folder, and contains appearance data.

oh yes, that was the problem. I just created individual ini files with rwx ACL and that was it.

Thank you for VERY fast reply :)
