http test via proxy

Post by mrtestuser »

hello,

i want to test for example the site www.yahoo.com
so i created a new test - http test
we mus user a proxy server - but it wont work.
are there any known problems?
i only type in the proxy adresse : ip of proxy server
porxy port - same as in ie
and authorisation with the login.

i dont se any possibilities to make something wrong
but the test alway go wrong - in milli seconds.
when i disable the proxy - the test will run 1 minuite an then it fails.

has anyone a good idea???

Could you provide more information, please?
- What version of HostMonitor do you use?
- What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
- Is HostMonitor started as a service or as an application?
- Do you have installed antivirus monitor? Personal firewall? Content monitoring software? Non-standard winsock components? Network packet analyzer?
- What exact status does HostMonitor show for that test? Bad? Unknown? No answer?
- Could you try to press "Test" button in "HTTP test properties" window? What reply do you see?

Regards,
Max

The "Test" button is located at the bottom of the "HTTP test properties" window. You may invoke that window by pressing "Advanced" button in "Test properties" window of appropriate HTTP test. Please, use "Test" button to get "Error Code" and "Error Message". It should help us to figure out your problem.

What exact proxy server do you use? ISA? What exact version? Service pack? Could you try to access the same URL using IE on the same machine where HostMonitor is running? Does it work properly?

So, you proxy server requires NTLM authentication? Sorry, HTTP test does not support NTLM authentication yet.
