Slow opening tests

We have 3000+ tests on our server, and simply opening a test takes about 60-90 seconds on our Dual P3-1Ghz.

Right now, monitoring is OFF, so it's not attempting to do any network traffic. There is nothing else running on this machine, and the CPU/memory usage is next to nothing.

Any way of speeding this up? We've confirmed the problem on several boxes. I shouldn't have to wait that long just to edit a test.
