Do RMA work in such situation?

Post by tckoaypg »

I have a question on the RMA function.

If I install RMA on a server. Eg. Monitor SQL Services & set with action item of restart the services it is failured. If the Server loss communication with HostMonitor Server for some reason. (eg. WAN Link down)

Do the RMA still monitor & will perform action by itself even connection to HostMonitor loss?

No, it does not. RMA just accepts requests from HostMonitor, performs test (or action) and provides information about test result back to HostMonitor.
To avoid the situation with lost connection we suggest to use test dependencies: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... htm#Master

For example you may setup the TCP test to check if RMA is listening on remote host and make such test as Master for the tests, that shoud be performed by RMA. If connection to host where RMA is running lost, there is probably little sense in trying to do the dozens of tests by RMA.
