We are monitoring some internet connections using pings. We have them set to not send a BAD or down message until it has had 20 consecutive bad results. We have it set to send an OK message after 32 consecutive Good results. The problem is that the recurrences counter resets after one bad result instead of the 20 that we use to actually consider it down. Then we get a message that it is up after 32 good results. The result is that we get GOOD messages all day because there is almost always one bad result every hour or so. We are monitoring quite a few of these and the Good messages are a problem. We also are sending these to text messages on cell phones and do not want the repeated Good messages unless somthing had actually hit the point we considered it down...
I hope that made sense.
Thanks

Thanks, I figured it would be something simple. I'll set that up. |
