Connection error

Post by bverdon »

It has been a while since I had this working so I don't remember how I made this work....but I am trying to access the hostmonitor via the web interface ...and I have followed the instructions...but I get this error:

Transmission error (Web Service <-> HostMonitor): "Connection error"
Possible reasons:
- HostMonitor is not running
- RCI interface disabled
- HM Web Service configured incorrectly (wrong TCP Port or IP address)
- network problem

I have alreay verified that all of the "reasons" are set up and working.

Any clues?

Thanks

Bill

May be firewall issue? Web Service and HostMonitor started on different systems? On the same machine?
Do you use 3rd party software like antivirus monitor, personal firewall, content monitoring software, non standard winsock components?

Or may be you have specified invalid parameters (IP address, port)? Could you please send hostmon.ini and webservice.ini files to support@ks-soft.net? Also provide your registration name or order number.

What version of HostMonitor and Web Service do you use?

Settings look fine.
May be port 1054 is used by different application? In such case you should assign different port. Use Windows netstat utility or our IP-Tools to check what ports are in use.
Do you see any errors in system log file (file that specified on Advanced Logs page in the Options dialog)?

What have you done before problem appeared? Installed some software? Installed Windows Service Pack? Restarted system?

Regards
Alex
