I had some trouble with detecting a new log-entry in the application log on a remote server.
After synchronizing both times, my problem was solved.

I'm sure the time difference was less than 2 minutes. I'm not sure who was later/earlier. What's the limit in time difference ? Suggestion:
Why not remember the timestamp of last log-entry on the remote host to know that another one (with a newer time stamp) is a new one ? In that case, HM is independant of local time.
