Folder\File Availability Test

I am having problems with HostMon that is probably a user error.

We want to test for the existance of a file (any file)

c:\Directory\*.*
I have it set for File Exists, Older Than 5 Minutes

Is the above a valid test

When I set it up that way it all ways returns even though there is no file in the directory specified.

You are using "Folder/File Availability" test method? It check for files and folders.
I would recommend to use "Count Files" test method instead, it provides "Count files older than N min" option
