hi,

My problem: I installed Host Monitor on a Windows2000 server (sp3). I uninstalled Host Monitor. But I have forgotten to stop and uninstall the Hostmon service I installed too, before uninstall host monitor software... Now, i cannot uninstall this service (with 'c:xxxhostmon.exe /uninstallservice command). I can't stop the service too...

I have reinstall Host Monitor (the installation program said me 'some errors appeared during installation' but I don't know what are they - nothing in logs-!!!) and tried to uninstall the service but it doesn't works...

Do you think it's impossible to uninstall hostmon service after my mistake and have a K.O. server for the rest of my life (:/), or a solution exists to clean this situation?

PS: I cannot restart the server at this time if it need it...

Thanks a lot for any help.
Regards

I think you can change "startup type" to "Disabled" (using standard Services application) and restart your system. After this you will be able to install/uninstall HostMonitor.

H'm. Ok, lets return to "stop service" idea. You said you cannot stop service. Why? Does OS display some error?
