Receiving sms by HostMonitor

Post by Malgorzata »

Hi!

I use sending sms option in HostMonitor. Now I would like to ask if it is possible to receive sms, which was sent to mobile phone connected to HostMonitor. I would like to store information from this sms in HostMonitor's log files.

Regards,
Margaret

I'm affraid it is impossible for current version. However, it looks loke you need special test method to check for new SMS messages. What information do you want to store into the log file? SMS body? Do you need to check SMS body for containing certain string?

Yes, I would like to store sms body in log file. This sms would be generated by my alarm device - for example notification about temperature in server's room. I need only save all this sms in file and from time to time have possibility to check history of these notifications.

I don't think such option will be built-in directly in HostMonitor. May be external utility that can listen for SMS and send SNMP Trap messages to monitor....
